Guidance

On this page you will find information about making an online application.

We recommend you read carefully all the guidance relevant to the type of visa you want to apply for so that you can ensure that you qualify to enter the UK and to help you prepare your application fully before you make your application. If your application is not presented in the requested format, it will cause a delay in the time it takes us to process your applications. If all the original requested documents are not submitted, your application may be refused.

Application forms

We are not able to accept ‘paper’ applications and you must make an online application for us to be able to process your application.

Guidance on how to make an online application

Use our online applications system, visa4uk to make an online application and appointment. We are confident that you will find this a convenient and straightforward process, but our Guidance - online applications and What type of visa should I choose pages have additional information which aim to answer any questions you may have about the online application process.
