Passport fees

Fees vary, depending on the type of passport you require. You need to pay the correct fee for your passport in Hong Kong Dollars.

You need to pay the correct fee in the local currency when applying for your passport. All fees are subject to change. No refunds will be issued for unsuccessful or fraudulent passport applications.

Methods of payment

We prefer payments by Visa, Mastercard, EPS, or by Cashier's Order from any registered Hong Kong bank made payable to: British Consulate-General Hong Kong only. However we do accept cash. Please note that we do not accept payment by personal cheque.

The following prices are calculated according to the current consular exchange rate (with effect from 3 September 2009): £1 = HK$13.00

Standard Passport (32 pages)

GBP: £124.50
HKD: $1,620

Frequent Traveller's Passport (48 pages)

GBP: £150.50
HKD: $1,958

Child Passport

GBP: £79.50

Emergency Passport

Additional fees

Courier fee

Completed passports can be returned to you by courier at a fee of HK$25.

Call out fee

There is a call out fee for issuing a temporary or emergency passport outside of office hours. You will need to add this fee (per hour or part of an hour) to the cost of the passport.
